What are Anti-Wrinkle Injections?
Anti-Wrinkle injections are given using Botulinum toxin. This is a natural occurring protein that has been safely and successfully used in small doses in non-surgical procedures for years. Anti-Wrinkle treatment causes the muscles of the face to relax, consequently smoothing out lines and wrinkles. The effects are observed after 2-14 days and last from 3 to 6 months. How Do They Work?
Anti-Wrinkle injections works by inhibiting the release of acetylcholine from motor nerve endings and preventing the contraction of muscle fibres. By blocking chemical signals between muscles and nerves, it allows facial muscles to relax and temporarily relieve any pressure on the subcutaneous tissue cells of skinfolds, which helps smooth out lines wrinkles and prevents them from developing in the first place.

Frown lines are the vertical lines often referred to as “11” lines that develop between the eyebrows and nose and appear when the face contracts in a frown. To treat these; small injections are given to the involved muscles in order to restrict movement causing the lines and wrinkles as well as preventing them from getting deeper.

Crow’s feet are the lines that appear at the corners of the eyes and spread out across the face. They develop through the multiple contractions that a person makes with their face over time.
